Common questions
How is this different from the AI already in WhatsApp?
WhatsApp's built-in AI answers questions. Anna handles your errands: it messages you first when a reminder is due, remembers what you've told it, and reads and writes in the email, calendar and spreadsheets you connect.
Does it cost anything?
It's free during beta, with usage limits that cover everyday needs. If paid plans come later, you'll hear about it in the chat first.
Is Anna a person or a bot?
Anna is an AI assistant, so it can make mistakes. For important things like medicine or money, double-check.
Who built Anna?
A small team. We also build AI products for banking in Southeast Asia, so we are strict about data: every account gets its own separate space (sandbox) so nothing mixes, and data is encrypted in transit. Want to ask directly? Our co-founder is on Threads @rushanfaizal.
Are my chats stored?
Yes, so Anna remembers context. Chats are not used to train AI models, and each account is kept separate from other users. Ask Anna to forget something any time, type /new to start a new conversation, or ask in the chat to have all your data deleted. Details are in the privacy policy.
Is my email account safe?
Accounts connect through the official consent page, not by handing over a password. Anna can only open what you allow. Only your account can use that connection, and you can revoke it any time.
Which apps can Anna connect to?
The most common: Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Notion and Slack. There are dozens more — name the app and Anna sends its official consent page. Each app is connected one at a time, so you can pick only the ones you want and revoke them any time.
Can someone else read my chats or connections?
No. Chats, notes and app connections are kept per account, so no other user can open, read or use them. You can open your own chat content; the Anna team only does when it is genuinely needed for support, security or a legal obligation. Details are in the privacy policy.
Can it send email without me knowing?
No. Every email is drafted and shown to you first. It's only sent after you say "send".
Can I send voice notes or videos?
Voice notes, yes, including long recordings like a meeting or a lecture. TikTok, Reels and YouTube links work too, long YouTube videos included. A video file sent directly can't be watched yet, so send the link instead.
Does it work on an old phone, or on Telegram?
Yes. If your WhatsApp works, Anna works. Want Telegram too? Type /link in one app and enter the code in the other.
